We ensure that every detail of the project is handled from start to finish, from the trim on a pillow to a custom built-in to the furniture delivery and installation to the hanging of artwork and lighting. We are truly a turn-key, full-service decorating and design firm. We serve as a single point of contact for our clients.  Not having to deal with multiple contractors, vendors, and retailers is more efficient, saves time and money, and eliminates the frustration many clients find in redecorating or renovation projects.   

A majority of our business comes from repeat business and referrals. Almost no project goes by without a spontaneous thank you note of appreciation, and we build lasting relationships with our clients. What to expect

PROCESS

Design is a very personalized service that relies on communication and connection between designer and client, which is why we work one on one with clients. Julie Anne and her team will guide you throughout the process, which begins with a phone consultation and ends with photographing your finished home. From the initial concept meeting to the final reveal, we work with our clients every step of the way to ensure that your design goals are met and that you are in love with the results.

TIMELINE

Depending on the size and scope of the project, the design and installation process can last anywhere from one month to a year, with most projects between 3-6 months. We are always very realistic with our clients about timelines, and we always aim to under promise and over deliver. 

INVESTMENT

Budget is obviously a key question about any project. Working with an interior designer can save you money by working efficiently and by sharing their designer’s trade discount with you. In exchange for this expertise and access, designers charge a design fee, and each designer charges a bit differently.  We charge an hourly design rate with a 20-hr retainer for services. Charging hourly allows us to work flexibly throughout the project without having to constantly revise the contract.  We carefully document all time spent and send monthly invoices so you will know exactly where we are in your project.

PURCHASING

As far as the actual furnishings, we handle all purchasing to ensure the quality and appropriateness of the products ordered and to make sure that you are getting the best possible pricing.  In fact, the price you will pay is almost always significantly below retail pricing. What makes this possible is the strong relationships we have developed with exclusive trade-only vendors, which allow us to purchase products at below retail pricing and pass savings on to you.

About Julie Anne

Julie Anne Baur is the owner and principal residential Interior Designer based in Cincinnati, Ohio.  She specializes in creating fresh, clean, traditional and transitional residential interiors. Julie Anne has a unique ability to connect with her clients and really “see” what they are wanting out of their spaces, often when they are not even sure that that is.  Julie Anne loves working with clients who are excited about the design process but want to rely on a designer to handle the hundreds of details needed to lead a project smoothly from start to finish. 

Julie Anne grew up in Florida and graduated with honors from Vanderbilt University. After college, she moved to Cincinnati and earned a Masters Degree from Xavier University and studied Interior Design at The Art Institute of Ohio. After gaining valuable experience working as an interior designer for several years, Julie Anne founded Winding Lane Interiors in 2014.

Team

CHANDLER DEKTAS, DESIGN ASSISTANT

Chandler Dektas assists with client services, ordering, design installations, and helping to manage all the hundreds of details that go into a successful design project.  Her love of beautiful furnishings, fabulous organizational skills, and energetic personality make her a wonderful addition to the Winding Lane Interiors team. Chandler is very creative and artistic, with a degree of art history from The Ohio State University and a masters degree in art education from Xavier University.

TRISH BROUILLETTE, DESIGN STYLIST

Trish Brouillette is a Design Stylist and freelance artist who has been working in the design community for over 25 years. She has worked closely with several design firms, not only painting but also assisting in styling and installation.  Trish has incredible vision and a true artist's eye which helps Winding Lane Interiors take each room from nice to fabulous.

STACI NUGENT, DESIGN ASSISTANT

As an expert in 3-D renderings, concept and mood boards, Staci’s photo-realistic, hi-resolution images and her expert space planning skills are a crucial part of the design process,  Staci helps translate vision into reality. Staci earned her bachelors degree in interior design at Mount Saint Joseph University.  Upon graduation, she gained valuable experience in the field by working for several interior design firms.
