Marrying old-world elegance with 21st century style and liveability
This 120-year-old Victorian already had plenty of architectural elegance and drama with its high ceilings and decorative moldings. We brought it into the 21st century by designing and furnishing the Dining Room with all the best elements of updated classic style including a blue and white color palette, accents of gold, dramatic window treatments and bold contemporary art. In the client’s nearby study, we extended the builtin bookcases, added a window seat between them, and painted everything in a deep moody blue. We added dramatic library lighting and thoughtfully accessorized the shelves with the clients’ treasures and new pieces. This study with its masculine touches of leather and tweed has become a favorite place to lounge, read and play music.
